Pre-conference Workshop

ATTENDANCE IS LIMITED TO 50 PEOPLE
This one-day workshop is designed for 20-40 professionals who are directly or indirectly involved in the provision of work-related rehabilitation services to people with disabilities. It is designed to introduce attendees to the uses of assistive technology for cognition within the context of school-to-work transition and employment. Attendees will learn about assessment strategies, available handheld devices and apps, treatment approaches and strategies for custom-fitting solutions for individual clients. We will utilize a case studies-based hands-on approach, including video cases, app exploration and small group-based problem solving around typical situations you might face in your work.
An assortment of handheld devices and apps needed for the course, along with Powerpoint lecture materials, instructional handouts and resources are provided. Tools in the Kit: Handheld technologies, devices, apps for cognitive support (will explore smartphones, PDAs, GPS, video prompts, disability-specific add-on software and Apple/Android apps within a cognitive rehabilitation context).
