Since 1993, Shannon’s work has been focused on integrated employment, self-determination and self-directed supports for people with disabilities.
Over the years Shannon has worked as a job coach, job developer, supported employment program manager, support broker, project consultant and trainer. In 2007, Shannon began working as a consultant with Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services Pathways to Independence Initiative (Medicaid Infrastructure Grant) to implement systems change, develop resources, and provide training and technical assistance to increase opportunities for integrated employment and self-directed supports throughout Wisconsin.
In 2010, Shannon also began working with inControl Wisconsin and the WI Board for People with Developmental Disabilities. Shannon has worked closely with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Department of Health Services, Managed Care Organizations, the IRIS Program, Independent Living Centers, and Employment Service Provider Agencies, as well as many people with disabilities and families across the state to make changes that have a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities.
