SERVICES PROVIDED

Community Rehabilitation Programs (CRPs) offer an array of services designed to assist people who have disabilities or other special needs to become more independent in their communities. The typical organization offers vocational training and job placement along with other community-based services. Those may include residential or supportive living services, early intervention for children aged birth to three and/or transition services for students moving from high school to adult living. Many provide day services for adults with special needs. Following is a breakdown of the type of servies provided by RFW members.

Vocational Assessment & Evaluation determines, with the individual, his or her vocational capabilities, employment readiness and potential, and provides a base by which to develop employment goals.

Job Development, Placement, & Retention is where competitive employment opportunities are sought, employees are matched, with competitive jobs, and employees and employers work together to promote success.

Extended Employment is employment in a manufacturing or service industry which is owned and operated by a community rehabilitation program.

Transitional Employment services provide support, to the degree necessary, while an individual transitions into a competitive job.

Supported Employment services provide ongoing monitoring and support services to individuals who need assistance to access and maintain community employment.

Transition from School to Work assists school-aged individuals who are making the transition into the world of work.

Welfare to Work services offer a wide range of employment services for people making the transition from public support to self-sufficiency.

Independent Living services teach basic living skills such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, shopping, money management, etc.

Residential Services support people to be as independent as possible at home, whether it is a group home or their own apartment or house. Services include personal assistance for people with physical disabilities.

Social Skills services help people overcome challenging behaviors and promote proper interaction with people at work, at home and in a variety of social settings.

Rehabilitation Technology & Engineering provides simple and complex devices to help an individual on the job or support a person in everyday living.

Physical, Occupational, Language, Speech & Hearing therapies help individuals develop essential communication and motor skills.

Orientation & Mobility services help familiarize individuals with the community and all it has to offer and assist people with transportation and other practical issues.

Early Intervention services are for children aged birth to three, designed to provide them with a better head start on motor and learning skills before entering school.

Elderly Day Services provide people who are elderly with the extra support or super- vision they might need during the day, as an alternative to nursing home services.

Family Support is for parents and families who may need assistance around disability issues including positive parenting skills, respite services, etc.

Recreation Therapies offer a variety of recreational activities designed to promote good health, entertainment and motor skill development.
